I’ve really struggled with a creative block the past several months. I’ve been taking some time to explore all this and I’m finally starting to feel like creating again. Here’s what helped.
At the beginning of last year, I started a “Beautiful Moments” jar. Whenever I noticed a moment that I found beautiful or made me happy, I would write it down and put it into this jar. The thinking was that at the end of the year, I would be able to read and remember these moments.
Usually, when you think of unicorns, you might imagine a brightly-colored land with majestic creatures happily frolicking about. You might not picture a unicorn dealing with depression.
I started this site because I wanted to inspire others to live their most magical lives. But with everything that’s been going on (pandemic, civil unrest, corrupt leadership, etc.), I didn’t want to be tone-deaf. It feels weird to write about rainbows and unicorns while people are either being killed by a deadly virus or being murdered by the police.
It’s hard not to feel a little freaked out when it feels like the whole world is about to collapse. Sometimes it feels like we have no control and it’s easy to lose ourselves in a panic. Those feelings are valid and real. So here’s a pandemic survival guide on how to deal.
